Kitesurfing spot Playa de los Lances Norte
Playa de los Lances Norte is a spot that is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experts. No matter what time of the year you attend, the winds of the area stand out for having more than three hundred wind surges per year. The beach is located in the municipality of the city, specifically in the Campo de Gibraltar in Andalusia and is one of the best kite spots in Spain.

Spot kitesurfing Playa de los Lances Sur
Playa de los Lances Sur has a flat sand without obstacles with a width of 100 meters and a length of approximately 3 kilometers. The beach is located approximately 3 kilometers from the town of Tarifa, between the camping Rio Jara and the Hotel Dos Mares.
The spot kite Tarifa is allowed 365 days a year, and is suitable for all levels, if you are not yet an expert in this sport in our school we have several courses during any bathing season adjusted according to your level to practice and live some extreme days. The wind on the other hand is constant generating a flat swell, although there are specific times of the year where the intensity of the swell increases due to strong winds, so during this period of time it is recommended more for those with an intermediate or advanced level. However, this happens about 5% of the days.
Rio Jara kitesurfing spot
Located on the National Road 340, at kilometer 82. If you don’t have a vehicle, don’t worry, it is also possible to get there on foot from Los Lances beach. In the summer season, the southern end of the beach becomes an exclusive area for bathers, while the northern end is a spot for kitsurfing.
About 5% of the days, the swell is choppy and strong, recommended only for tourists with a medium-difficult level, as the wind direction and the waves increase the distance between the shore. On 40% of the days at Rio Jara the waves are small and choppy, about 1 meter high, while on 50% of the days the constant wind promotes a flat sea with waves between 1 to 2 meters. Rio Jara beach is ideal for all levels.
Kitesurfing spot Balneario
The first beach you will find for kitesurfing in Tarifa will be the Balneario beach, geographically located next to the Isla de la Paloma, right in the center of town about 200 meters from the port. The beach is recognized by tourists for its fine and soft sand, the seabed also has sand, kitesurfing can be practiced almost all year round, but keep in mind that the government banned this practice during the date from June 15 to September 15, since it is reserved only for bathers.
In most of the year the winds are from the east, that is to say, the intensity of the wind is constant providing a flat sea with waves between 1 and 2 meters, although in winter the waves can grow up to 4 meters. In Balneario beginners can practice kitesurfing, although it is recommended for advanced and expert kitesurfers.
Arte Vida kitesurfing spot
The wind conditions at Arte Vida beach during most of the year have a constant intensity and no swell. However, on certain days the wind can produce small choppy waves or even a strong swell with waves up to 4 meters. Depending on the day and the swell the instructor will indicate if it is suitable for beginners or if a more advanced level is required. The practice of this water sport is allowed all year round except from June 15th to September 15th. Arte Vida is located next to the beach of Virgen de Los Lances, its soft sand and dreamlike view continue to enchant more than one tourist.
Kitesurfing spot Los Palmones
After a 30 minutes drive from the center of Tarifo, you will reach Palmones, a perfect spot to practice kitesurfing in calm waters. The wind on the beach is excellent, and mostly tourists prefer the morning hours because the winds are above 30-35 knots. The area is perfect for all levels from beginners to experts.
Spot kitesurfing Valdevaqueros and Punta Paloma
Valdevaqueros and Punta Paloma are geographically located on the national road 340 at 76 kilometers. Both beaches are quite safe for tourists, its sand is not rocky, although sometimes at the southern end if there are usually a few rocks. The wind conditions are constant and without swells on most days, during the winter the first 50 meters of the beach are usually windless. There are days when the waves are choppy, during these days the instructor will recommend to practice to tourists with a medium-high level. However, if the waves are calm they will allow beginners to practice.
Kitesurf spot Bolonia
The kitesurfing beaches in Tarifa are a marvel, and Bolonia Beach is no exception. The wind conditions allow a good swell, there are days where there can be waves up to almost 3 meters high. The best months to practice are between January and October. Mostly this site is recommended to people already experienced in kitesurfing.
Kitesurfing spot Getares
To dive on the beaches of Getares, you have to leave Tarifa and head towards Algeciras, then take the exit and continue until you reach the beach, the distance is about 20 kilometers. The swell is a little strong so it is recommended for sailors who have an intermediate or advanced level.
Kitesurfing spot Los Caños de Meca
The beach is located 45 minutes from Tarifa, characterized by being wide and rocky bottom. An excellent choice for those days when the wind in Tarifa is very strong. Its winds are easterly and westerly, so it is recommended for those athletes with a more intermediate level, and as an extra fact you should know that during the summer it is forbidden to sail.
Kitesurfing spot Sotogrande
Sotogrande beach is a real attraction for kitesurfing lovers, its waves and waters create a paradisiacal place that adapts to any level from beginner to expert. It is forbidden to surf these waves during the summer season. The wind direction during the year is mostly on-shore and when the tide is high there is a strong shore-break.
